I checked one hive this afternoon. One deep and one medium. They are putting nectar in the outermost frames. I'll be supering it tomorrow and moving a few frames up to give them space. No queen cells yet. Will also try to check my other hive.

up till yesterday the girls were brooding up so fast that anything coming in was quickly consumed. I mentioned to a bee club member about splitting a three story hive that I had helped him place into good (ie not totally rotten) boxes that he could have split the hive 6 to 8 ways but he would have to figure out for himself in which box to place the 6 cells of honey.

it looks like all this began to change yesterday as the wind calmed down and we had a bit of a small splash by early afternoon.

I haven't opened mine yet, but one (2 deeps + a shallow) had traffic all backed up in front yesterday, waiting to get in with pollen, and it only reached about 45 degrees.
