I had 2 hives swarm on me last week and I haven't been in them yet , hoping tommorow, but it seems the colonies have are recovering nicely. I see orientation flights daily and the amount of bees bearding from the heat is getting larger every day. I am still using entrance reducers but I want to take them out because of the heat we are having. If the colonies are evenly populated would it be okay to open the hives up all the way or should I just go with the medium opening until the colonies are full strength again?

I don't mean to start a entrance reducer dust up:lol:. Oh...by the way, why do my hives smell like dirty socks....just kidding:lol:

I would have all hives fully open at the bottom in this weather.

Of course, I have solid bottom boards. If you have screen, the reducer may be OK.
