I have 30 + acres covered with what looks like sweet peppebush and it is just starting to bloom. I see all kinds of other bees all over it but no honeybees.
Most of my land is acidic wetland soil and the pepperbush covers the forest floor.

Maybe I'm not looking in the right areas.

Does anyone ever see honeybees on the sweet pepperbush? Everything I've read says it is a surplus nectar supply.

30 acres should bring some spicy flavoured honey, never tasted it, but heard it's very nice.

Could you by any chance provide the scientific name for the sweet pepperbush?

Got it, Clethra alnifolia, thank you. It's a plant I have no knowledge of (not the only one )
