At least until another new guy shows up, and then I'll be the older new guy.

Recently got interested in bees and bought two hives and nucs. I've read a few good posts on here and it looked like a good place to land for wisdom about thousands of my little friends.

Looking forward to reading even more and hopefully helping my hives survive.

Did I mention I like honey, a lot?

    Thanks everyone.

Lol, I've never actually been called SK before. Most of the time I'm senil or king. Didn't realize you were abbreviating my name to that and was looking for someone named SK. Nothing wrong with it, just funny.

Just curious, Barbarian. Do your bees buzz with a funny British accent?

Welcome King. How are your nucs doing so far? Love of "real" honey was a major factor for me too!

Call me whatever you want. SK can be my beekeeper alias.

Nucs seem to be doing fine. Only had two days of sun before three days of rain, so they've been a little confined. They both face mostly south sitting beside each other, and I think half of the western one adopted the eastern one at the beginning, but it also had a younger queen with a lot of brood. Both are very gentle.

I see several folks' blogs. Is this something anyone can do on here? I might try it just to have something to look back on, and to get any random advice in the process.

Funny southern Mississippi accent? I don't hear any accent, everyone sounds normal around here, lol.

Of course they do, they were born and raised that way. After they land, the buzz kind of drawls out a few seconds before stopping. Or so some non-locals tell me.

And I haven't been able to find where to do the blog entries. Is there a minimum post requirement or something for it to show up, or am I just missing it?

    Greetings again, SK.

All classes in this glorious sceptred isle speak with funny accents.

I have heard of a land far to the West where even stranger tones occur ------ of course there are some strange folks there.

This forum is a refuge for funny folk ------ even Texans... Enjoy.
