I got around to taking a harder look at the old extractor I picked up. I am surprised by how simple and well made it is. It has a conical bottom, with a trough built in to the honey gate, seemingly alleviating one of the bigger complaints with extractors today (having to tilt them to drain all the honey out). The basket is almost a work of art, with graceful arcing strapping (designed to hold the end bars of the frames) welded together along with the mesh at almost every possible joint. The simplicity of the mounting bracket for the cast top and the basket make it the easiest extractor I have seen to dismantle. I love the other ones I have but this one is already my favourite!!
