I finally got some nail poish the other day to start marking my queens with. I really looked for a long time and finally found a shade I really like. I mean I liked it a lot. I was running all over the store finding my wife and kids asking them if they liked it. It had a metallic look to it and almost glowed. I even went back and got several other shades to give them a multiple choice. I was having a great time picking just the perfect one and was very happy with the final choice. I got home and managed to get about 3 queens marked when I realized this year is not yellow. Technically my color is gold and I like it. it makes the queens easy to spot. so I think this year is going to be gold in my apiary.

Thx fuzzy, and yes she is a big girl.Daniel, I had read other people saying red didn't stay on.I bought some queens that came marked, and when I checked them the red was gone.I re-marked them with yellow.I have a blue queen that has stayed marked for two yrs and she is soeasy to spot.
