I just finished making 50 something frames from a 2" x 12"
:drinks:

The question is; Should I singe them before installing the foundation? Or just go with the bare wood?

Any help would be great.

Thanks :hi:

I would leave them bare wood. Cant say i have heard of singeing new equipment before. only heard of that used when you was afraid might of foul brood spores in used equipment. If you dont mind me askin what brought you the idea to singe them.

I would also go bare wood, unless you are certain there are some deadly bee diseases on the wood. That would be a lot to singe.

Curious about your member name as I used to live on Kodiak Island in Alaska when I was a kid.

i got the name "kodiak" for two reasons:
1st, my last name is kubiak. So kubiak--kodiak kind of easy right!
2nd, I was a superintent on very large construction jobs for about 10 years and was very "bear" like with the other subs. Just kind of happened.

I think I will leave them bare wood. just makes sence not to have to do all of that extra work.

Thanks

kodiak I agree go with the bare wood. All us on the forum love it when new members get active and ask this type of question even an old keep can learn from the new bees. I find your post interesting and educational keep up the good work.
