Hello to all keepers of the bees. (has a nice ring to it) Im looking for a little advice. if I split a fairly strong hive so as to prevent swarming and to break a mite cycle. taking only two frames of brood and the queen for the new nuc( from about a single brood box worth of brood) ( I'm using top bar hive) . Will the original hive go on to produce honey without much problem.
Thanks in advance for your input.

With either great luck or excellent timing and without brood to raise and with a good nectar flow you COULD have an excellent honey crop out of the queenless hive.
