Went to go get a swarm today and they had already bailed by the time I got there (2nd one that left before I got there in two days!!!!) but I found the parent hive they came from about 20' up in a tree knot. The house is a rental and he's had problems with swarms the last 3 years. Had someone do a cut-out last summer from the eaves. He asked if I can remove the bees from the tree and I said no problem. He owns a plumbing/electrical/well service company and has a lift truck for setting the trap-out and tearing it down and sealing up when done. Anyway, here's my question. Since they just swarmed yesterday if I set a trap-out cone and bait hive tomorrow I SHOULD get the new queen as she comes back from mating flights right? I also assume that since there aren't any eggs right now that the time to completion will be reduced from the usual 6-7 weeks to maybe 3-4 for the remaining brood to hatch out.
