I have a very weak hive, from mouse damage, can I use it to do a trap out??
It has a queen and capped drone brood, very little stores but they are working up a storm bringing in pollen and nector. These are such gentle bees I just want to keep the genetics going, they are truly survivor stock (never been worked or medicated in years). Did a cut out on them the other day and never even got a head bump.

The real reason I ask is I do not have a hive that is strong enough to rob out a frame of brood.

Use it. It worked fine the only time I have tried a trap with a live queen. Report back if it works as well for you.
