I have a chance to do my first trapout. My questions are do i just place a frame with open broad and eggs in the trapout hive with no nurse bees? Also should i place a feeder on the new hive. I have an extra top feeder i could use. Any other pointers would be helpfull. Thanks Vance

A feeder may entice neighboring bees to rob the trap hive faster than they can store it. I wouldn't feed. Of course, I would only do a trap out when there is nectar coming in, not during a dearth.

Yes, eggs are an absolute necessity. With or without the house bees to accompany it.

Thanks, Ski, Iddee for the trap out thread. Very helpfull. I placed the trap on Friday and so far so good. Bee's coming out to fast to keep track of, by Sunday afternoon many were coming and going in to the hive. My plan is to wait a week to look into the hive. thanks again for the help, and i will keep guys posted. Vance
