Well, it's that time of year again.

Time to buy the chocolate, the card, and whatever else.... :(

Every year, it's the same thing. I hear of others and the boxes of chocolate they get their wives and loved ones. And every year, I must buy twice as much as the next guy, in some poor attempt to satisfy my wife. But every year I do it. Every year, I satisfy her chocolate craving, and buy enough to last her till at least Easter. (That would be about 20 pounds... )

Cheap? You ask. Simple planning is all that is needed. That and a well planned shopping trip Monday morning to the well known stockpiles of valentines day goodies, all reduced to at least 50-75% off.

    Timing.....that's all it is.....

    Hey, afterall...it's her money..... :hi:

If you were really smart you would stock up for next year while you are at it. hmmm. I guess I'd better get to the card and candy store. Buy.

chocolates don't store for a year very easily and old chocolate sure doesn't say love to your valentine!

I just told my wife that "valentine's day is for young couples that still love each other"... That should save me the expense of any gift she was planning on buying for me.
What she doesn't know is that last fall I stashed some early blooming flower bulbs on the warm side of my shop to grow her a homegrown boquet of flowers every year since the bulbs that are in the regular beds usually just miss the dreaded fourteenth of february. The daffodils started to pop yesterday and I should have a good bunch in the morning. Homegrown flowers=cheap valentines day.

I always take Kare to the most expencive card shop a few days before the event. we look for the proper cards for the occation and as we find them we hand them to each OTHER TO READ AND REPLACE. Saves an ungodly amount of money.

I baked cookies. Making chocolate chip cookies in the shape of hearts is not as easy as one would think!. Coming the other way, I got a beautiful flower bouquet. So nice to see flowers when it is all white and cold outside!

Kare got a new flat screen TV to watch rude simon and idol on. I got a new Remington 870 slug gun, of course that covers my next fathers day, vetrans day, birthday and Christmas.

Bjornbee, no i never signed it :D . I got chastised when my wife caught me teaching our 9 yr old son how to sign his name in the snow, she called my mother and mom told her it must be a family thing, his father taught him. Jack
