Varroa Mite Just Strolling On By

    On the latest inspection, I pulled a brood frame that was all capped... and found a varroa mite just walking across the cappings... in full plain view... and there was nothing I could do about it because to kill it would have caused the deaths of many more brood than it or it's offspring will have the opportunity to harm. Man that ticked me off... it was like it was saying "ha-ha you can't get me".

    You could've gotten it to crawl onto your hive tool or your hand and killed it then.
    One varroa mite will actually reproduce anywhere from 1-10 more mites. They're worse than rabbits.
