I'm about four weeks into my bee keeping adventure and I'm having great time learning. It's fascinating, like being the mayor of a town and a meddling Greek god all at the same time. Sim Bee City of sorta but when you screw around with the citizens too much you'll get stung. Today's Lesson #1 - Listen to what you read here. If it's been raining and overcast it's not a great day to do an inspection. The citizens were not happy campers. I got stung twice, more below. #2 - Bring your smoker and use it. My bee brush seems to insight riots. It seriously makes them mad as heck. #3 - The bees seem to be doing just fine without me poking around. Think I'll leave them alone a bit more. The good news is my established hive is doing awesome. So much honey, I'm going to rob them next week. WEATHER permitting. My new package bees are doing great. So much brood, the population is set to explode. Pretty fun to watch. #4 - Don't wear jeans with holes in them and without underwear. I had just got back from the lake, took my bathing suit off, and slipped on some yard work jeans. Bad mistake... I got stung three inches from a place that would have been very painful. Lesson learned. Bee's win.
