3 weeks ago I hived a package of small cell bees. Last week I started seeing whitish spot or patch on the thorax of some of my bees. For the most part they were circular and of different sizes. Most seemed to be centered on the thorax but some were more lateral. Color ran from glistening white to a dullish off white. Today I was seeing many more of these bees.
Is this an indication of some metabolic disorder or some disease. These white spots do not appear to be pollen

I do not know the answer to that one. I have white pollen around here, and I've never bought a package. (just a couple of nucs, and over the years a few queens)
I went through a couple of fairly solid sites quickly and I don't find either a disease or a parasite that results in white spots.

What is your weather like?
