I have good news!!!

We were able to harvest a little purple honey this year!!! :yahoo: (I am so excited) But I have some not-so-good news. The bees stored a little goldenrod honey on the same frames. I would say...that there was 1/4frame or less of goldenrod honey on our purple honey frames so the honey still looks purple and tastes purple but it has sort of a goldenrod aftertaste and pretty gold swirls in it. Just to be cautious, we have been letting the jar sit for a while to make sure it wasn't going to separate or change flavor and so far it hasn't.

Long story short, my family and I have been trying to decide what to do with it. After all there is a very long waiting list but....we haven't set a price on it.......so we thought that an auction would be the fairest way to go! (Especially since my brothers and I have been working very hard this year to earn a little Christmas money ) So, we have a 1/4 pint up for grabs! And I can't tell you right now how long it will be available. So....

Who wants it?? And how much are willing to pay for it???
(I will put pictures up soon, by the way)

Me! Me!

But I probably can't afford your "purple gold." I'm inherently cheap, so I am afraid to put a price out here for fear it will be insultingly low, and I know you folks have worked hard for it. (Well, not directly  )

I would like a taste sample of it before I throw my bid out there, send me a minimum of a quart and we will go from there

Baby Beek I hope you do well with it.

3 replies and no bids? That won't work.
Heck, I'll start it.
I bid a dollar for hobie.
I bump that bid to 2 dollars for G3.
I bump that one to 3 for Charles.
Then I'll top that with 4.00 for myself.
Now we'll see who comes back with a better one.
:p :p :p :p

Ok, I tried to get a picture of the swirls and it made the honey look pink instead. (Oh well)

The closing date will be November 19th at 10:00pm (eastern time) and the final bid will cover shipping.

This is the 1/4 pint
this picture is from our first purple honey harvest and it is pure purple honey.

This was the attempt to capture the swirls with my camera and well...you can see how that turned out.

So, anybody have 5$ ?

I couldn't find my purple ribbon hobie. I have a little strand floating around here somewhere.....I'll see if I can get a better picture with it in the next couple days.
I sent a pm to Ducks and the others from the purple honey thread who said they wanted some and so far no one has showed up.
Well, anybody have $21.00 and a t-shirt? :D
