Only 9 months and 17 days left and I'm going to try that.
I retired from the Marine Corps and a defense job. Now I have the best job in the world -- working with beekeepers.
I would guess the years I spent in Florida pretty much convinced my that retirement is way over rated. too many cases of folks who retired and then had no driving purpose and then they was dead.
Well, retirement doesn't seem to include much time for sitting around. We're busier than when we worked-the only difference is we never know what day it is! Oh, yeah, and we're doing what we want to do!
 funny pic iddee!
well, i think i retired but am not sure, so far i don't know what it's like to sit on my backside, sometimes i actually get to do what i want to do, rather than fixin up or catching up, and gives me more time with the bees! btw next time someone scoffs at the price of a jar of my honey, i am going to tell them how i sat around on my behind for the past week pulling supers and extracting honey
I am 74 have been retired now for 4 years and 2 mths, to tell the truth I wished I had stayed on part time anyway, I seemed to have had more time to do stuff than I do now, what made the diffrent I do not know, think I am setting around to much.
I am still working on my retirement plan. I'll get to retire just as soon as they draw my six numbers in the powerball.
I see we have the same retirement plans! (Up here it's called Lotto Max or the Lotto 6/49!
It's hard to think of a beekeeper as someone who is retired. It's self employed, either making money or not. Like Noronajo says, "Oh, yeah, and we're doing what we want to do!" I'll add, "When we want, and at the pace we set for ourselves".
