While I'm not a beginner (I've been at this for about 7 years), I am a hobbyist. I've lost hives and built new hives and I've learned a lot. My question to all of you is when I get a strong healthy hive (I currently have 3 hives), why is there so little honey? I'm using the Langstroth hive setup on two hives. Both have two full deep brooder boxes and one honey super. A good year for me would be an almost full honey super but normally it's 4-5 frames only. I see pictures of other hives with 3 to even 4 honey supers and I ask myself, am I doing something wrong or do I just have lazy bees?
